First, we need to understand that faith is purely based on knowledge of God’s Word. Fear is based on knowledge or worldly information. The amount of faith that a Christian operate in is directly proportional to the revelation knowledge that he or she has from God through His Word.
Many people have found it very difficult to operate in faith in the 21st century. That is because they either don’t have the real knowledge of God’s Word in them, or they have let the Word slip and be choked by the knowledge of the world. Fear comes through carnal knowledge, just as faith and all things that pertain unto life come through godly knowledge. Most Christians today (even Spirit-filled Christians) are full of the knowledge about how to operate in Satan’s system but are deficient in the knowledge it takes to prosper in God’s system. So, it is not really a faith problem that exists, but it is rather a Word problem.
According to Romans 3:27, God is a faith God. The more we understand about faith, the better we will understand what moves Him. God demands faith of us. Without faith it is impossible to please Him. Smith Wigglesworth said that God would pass over a million people just to find someone who believes Him. Faith pleased God in the Old Testament. That is how Abraham received from God and became “the Father of faith.”
We also see Jesus in the gospels telling the woman with the issue of blood, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole…,” Mark 5:34. Faith not only pleased Him; it seems He was looking for it. He told the Roman centurion,”…I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel,” Matthew 8:10.
In the Book of Acts, we find that faith also pleases God and moves the Holy Spirit. In Acts 10:19,20, the Holy Spirit told Peter to go to Caesarea with Cornelius’ servants, “doubting nothing.” The Holy Spirit was trying to get Peter to take the limits off God. It takes faith to please God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are pleased by faith.
Faith pleased God in both the Old and New Testaments. In Malachi 3:6, God said, “I am the Lord, I change not…” Faith will please God throughout eternity. Therefore, this “law of faith” is not a temporary law; it is part of the nature of God, and it will last forever.
What Faith is NOT
First, we need to understand that there are some things that faith is not. Faith is not a math equation, where we follow certain pre-laid steps and get an exact result. Faith is also not a blind denial of problems. When problems arise, we have an opportunity use our faith against them but NOT to deny they exist. Weapons will be formed against a believer but God has promised protection against them. All that God requires of us is to believe Him – by faith that He is able to deliver us.
Faith is the assurance that God is greater than the problems. Hebrews 11:1… Faith is found in our actions and attitudes.
Faith Opens the Door to The Supernatural
Jesus made one of the most amazing statements in the Bible in Mark 9:23, when He said, “…If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” With that one statement, Jesus opened the door to the supernatural! He was encouraging us to take the limits off of our lives and enter the realm of God. In order to walk in the supernatural (by faith), you have to walk in the revelation knowledge. Revelation knowledge is gotten from spending time in the presence of God. (John 15:7)
We know that with God all things are possible, but Jesus put the believer in the realm of God. We know from Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith pleases God and releases His supernatural ability. Unbelief and doubt limit God and stop His power. Faith takes off the limits!
God has given us His Word to go beyond the limits of the natural man into the supernatural. Learn to live everyday believing all things are possible. Someone said that a miracle comes your way every day BUT it takes a man with spiritual discernment to recognize it. Learn to recognize the possibilities of God that surround you.
Some people are content to just go through life as long as they are able to pay their bills or make their mortgage payments. Others reach out for the impossible and that is why they see the supernatural! The invisible reservoir of abundance in the universe can be tapped into by obeying the spiritual laws we have been discussing. There is no need to be in lack if you learn how to tap into the Heavenly reservoir! As you learn the laws of God and what pleases Him, abundance will flow to you and through you.
Mountain-Moving Faith
Mark 11:22-23 “…Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.
The literal Greek meaning of verse 22 is, “Have the faith of God.” If the Lord Jesus said we are to “have” the faith of God, it must be possible to “have” faith. And not only is it possible but it is also necessary and mandatory if we are to experience the supernatural.
Jesus was saying here in Mark 11 that there will be times in your life when nothing natural will move the mountain you are facing. It will take the supernatural to move that mountain. It will take the faith of God to open the door to the supernatural and release the power of God. The Godkind of faith is an absolute necessity in this life; it is not an accessory or an option.
If Jesus said to “have” faith, we must need it.
We Have the Same Spirit of Faith
This kind of faith works by believing in your heart and saying with your mouth. Apostle Paul, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to the church said in 2 Corinthians 4:13; “…We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak”.
Paul said “we” have the same spirit of faith. I have and you have—we have—the same spirit of faith. We believe and we speak. This is how faith works, by believing and speaking.
Notice Paul did not say, “We are trying to get it,” he said, “We’ve it!” In Romans 12:3, Paul says that God has dealt to every man “the measure of faith.” Every born-again believer has a measure of the God-kind of faith. You have a measure of mountain-moving faith!
Your faith can grow and increase by feeding on the Word of God and by exercising it, because we have the same spirit of faith. Remember, Jesus was not performing a “deity trick” in His teaching in Mark 11. He was not showing off what God could do. If He had, He never would have said, “Whosoever shall say…” This will work for anyone. This is the law of faith that taps into God’s reservoir of power and abundance to meet every need of mankind in this world. All things are possible to you, believer! Finally remember; Faith will not necessarily prevent all mountains, but it will move them! The God-kind of faith is an absolute necessity in this life.
